Project IMPAACCT ( Improving Awareness and Access to Cancer Care and Treatment), is a collaborative effort between Bishop Christopher Stokes and The CaRE2 Health Equity Center Community Outreach Core @ UF to address social determinants of health among people living in rural communities. This project seeks to create a model for other institutions and communities at the community served in Micanopy, FL by the Willie Mae Stokes Community Center.
The goals of project IMPAACCT are:
Inform persons about Cancer and COVID-19 testing and prevention strategies
Assess how persons are coping with COVID-19, especially persons surviving cancer
Assess coping and grieving strategies
Identify opportunities to improve SDOH factors (i.e., food desert, transportation) for community members
